Best Lightweight Single Stroller
Travel strollers aren't much lighter or more compact than this one. Its sleek design is simple to fold into a neat rectangle and the wheels turn more easily than some other styles.
The stroller also comes with an ample storage space under the seat and an adjustable shoulder strap that makes it easier to transport when you're not pushing it. The canopy adjustment can be loud, which could disturb children who are asleep.
1. Contours Itsy
A compact stroller that is also a compact stroller, the Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its small size. The back basket under the seat is equipped with a spring-loaded mechanism, which means you can pull the basket down to put the backpack or diaper bag and then it will pop up to secure its contents. It also comes with an accessory tray for children and an adjustable reclining seat back pad that offer more options than you normally get on a stroller that is light.
It also has a canopy that you can open and shut to ensure that you get the level of sun protection you need. The handlebars can be adjusted in height to ensure a comfortable fit in four different positions. We weren't too impressed by the quality of its ride on rough terrain. We found that the wheels and suspension did not do a great job of absorbing shocks and bumps.
The stroller is ideal for travel because it is fully assembled in the box. It requires only a few simple steps to make it ready for use. The seat can be pushed forward and backwards to alter the recline, which is pretty much flat. Two buttons on the frame allow it to fold and unfold. It also fits into an extremely convenient bag for carrying when not in use. It's actually one of the most compact strollers we tested and it easily fulfills the requirements of most airlines for gate-checking, or cabin storage on airplanes. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus
This is an excellent option for those who are looking for a lightweight travel stroller. It comes with all the features parents are looking for in a stroller. This includes all-terrain tires and front suspension for an easy ride. It is also extremely lightweight and weighs less than 12 pounds. And it has a convenient one-hand and self-standing fold. It has two cup holders on each tray for the child and parent.
Its build quality, however, is a little on the low side and it did not score well in our tests of maneuverability. It also has a swivel frame which makes pushing it over rough terrain feel like lifting a heavy weight. This may be okay when you use the stroller on paved paths, but for the majority of people, it will likely not be comfortable.
Cloud Plus Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy as well as a peek-a-boo window to provide additional sun protection. Its multi-position seat accommodates children up to 50 pound and has a 5-point safety restraint system. This is a great choice for older toddlers that have outgrown their infant car seats.
It has a one-step and compact folding mechanism and can be folded with only a click of a button. It also has a convenient brake that can be operated by a foot, which is simple and easy to set and release.
The handle is lower than the majority of the strollers we have tested however some parents may find it uncomfortable to use for long periods. It does have an adjustable handle lock that keeps it in place while open however. This is a great feature if you plan to use the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.
3. Munchkin Sparrow
The Munchkin Sparrow is the ultimate travel stroller for parents who are on the go. The compact stroller is easy to fold up and down, and fits easily in overhead compartments on planes, as well as in trunks at the amusement park (no more worrying about parking charges). It also comes with an easy-zip carrying bag that can be easily stored. It can be used from birth using the infant car seat adapter and offers a good amount of coverage in the sun thanks to its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only downside for certain parents is that they consider the style to be dated and unfashionable.
The BabyZen Yoyo+ stroller is more expensive than other lightweight single strollers. It was designed specifically to be a luxury urban stroller and for travel. It is one of the easiest strollers to fold and comes with a convenient carry case. It is packed with storage space as well as a cupholder. The seat is comfortable for the adult and child, and it reclines to a nearly flat position. This is the only stroller on our list that can be used with infants with the car seat adapter. The handlebar cannot be adjusted and could pose an issue for parents who are small.
The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the most lightweight stroller, but it has a lot of great features to make traveling with children easier. The large seat reclines to a pretty flat position, and comes with extra padding so that those naps on the plane last longer. The canopy extends to provide adequate sun protection, and the tray has plenty of storage. It also has a spring-loaded handle that doubles as the footrest when folded. The footrest is susceptible to being damaged by baggage handlers.
4. Uppababy Mini V2
Uppababy Minu V2 is a stylish stroller with a top-quality design and high-end. Its compact design makes it easy to navigate narrow streets and tight spaces, but its sturdy structure allows it to withstand rough terrain without compromising the comfort of your child. The spring-action suspension in the front and back ensures an even more comfortable ride and its sturdy materials ensure it can withstand everyday wear and tear. Additionally it can be extended to accommodate other accessories such as a bassinet or infant car seat.
Even with a baby in the mix, the Minu was very easy to fold and move around. Its squat fold that can be divided into three sections, was one of the most simple we tried. This makes it possible to fit easily in overhead compartments in planes and public transport. It also has a single-action brake with color coded that is simple to use.
cheap single buggy reclines in various positions, and the leg rest can be adjusted using one hand, making it simple to find your child's perfect position. The UPF 50+ hood went down quite a ways and was ideal for protecting Cora's eyes from the sun (though not as low as some other strollers). 5. Joovy Aire
Joovy is a well-known brand that produces several strollers. This lightweight stroller is ideal for parents who are looking for a sturdy stroller to take their children. It is easy to maneuver, has plenty of storage space, and is not difficult to fold. It's not the ideal choice for those who want an automobile seat-compatible model or a double stroller, however. It doesn't accept infant car seats. Your babies must be able sit up on their backs before they can use it.
This stroller has some solid features, and it comes with a hefty price. It earned a higher score in our maneuverability review than other strollers with similar specs, and is an excellent choice for smooth paved surfaces. It comes with a large parent tray, canopy, and plenty of storage. The front wheel suspension is stiff and the handlebar is smaller than the norm, but it provides an enjoyable ride for adults.
If you have twins or two children who are different in age, you might consider a side-by-side stroller the best option for them to travel in. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove, which offers plenty of features, and has a slim footprint that fits in places that other side-by-side alternatives won't.
It has a large canopy, with a peek-aboo window and plenty of storage. It's a bit heavier than some other side-by-sides however it has a decent weight capacity and can accommodate most children up to 50 pounds. It is possible to add an infant bassinet to the front of the stroller to accommodate newborns.
If you want an even more luxurious version of this stroller the Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is an excellent alternative. It offers the same great features as this model and comes with a bassinet to allow you to bring your baby home from the hospital with fashion.
